I was opening our mails this afternoon. I went over all of them one by one even if it's just a junk mail.
What caught my attention is the Juror Duty paper. I thought it was for me or my husband but it was adressed to my Mom.
You can't just ignore this paper and need to do something about it. Ma is not qualified to be one of them because she's not a US Citizen. It's not a problem but still need to call the Juror Commissioner to let her know or my Ma will get a penalty for ignoring it.
I called the number which was written in the paper. Now a days, you have to pressed this and that until you reach or talk to the live person. It's the virtue of patience that is very powerful. I mean, it's not easy to be in the waiting mood.
I finally talked to a live person and explained the situation. The lady on the phone asked the juror # and what nationality. In order for my Ma to waived the said juror duty, I need to give my Ma's alien registration number which I don't have in my custody. I even told her that my Ma is in the Philippines right now but still she needs the alien card # as a proof of not a citizen of this country.
I just told the nice lady that I will call her back tomorrow after getting all the info via texting technology.
Life sometimes is so complicated.
On the other note, I received this letter too from our car insurance stating that our premium will be canceled by December 31st if I won't pay the $101.35
I called our insurance agent for some explaination on what happened. Well, I always pay every six months with him and here's the scenario...
I paid our agent way back in July 17 in full payment. Seems like the last week of July we purchased our new car and I called him to let him know to make some changes for insurance purposes. I was aware that there must be a slight difference of the payment. I mean, need to add more or our insurance will be a little bit high since it's a brand new car. Dah! I thought they will charged us for the next payment but no, we have to pay them ASAP. Our agent told me that they send a bill way back in August for $86.35 but didn't get it. The reason why the bill I received earlier was $101.35 because they were charging a late fee for it. I asked our agent if he can waive the late fee since I always pay on time and in full amount, it just happened that there was a miscommunication after we purchased our car.
He totally understand my side of story and yes he waived the $15.00 late fee. I paid our said bill over the phone and problem solved.
What's next? Just wait for the next episode! Once again, life is colorful!
